How far can the bacteria be modified?

In an interesting publication it is described, that the bacteria can be breed slowly to survive finally in a very poisonous environment.

Probably, some irradiation (either UV or gamma-irradiation in order to increase the mutation rate) can do it even quicklier, and the possible application of the procedure may be an attempt to breed the bacteria that can survive at another planet, like Mars. Slowly, step by step it worthwhile to try generation of bacteria in an environment closer and closer to another planet. If it is possible to do for some poisonous lake, why it is not possible  for much harsher environment. Probably, the final breed can not survive on the Earth after all, but it does not any matter, the modern rocket can send it right to another planet and let them prosper. Billions of years later they may evolve into some intelligent beings.

The modern era demands new gadgets for the alleviation of human work. One of the cool features of this translator is a mechanical, robotical men's voice that is synthesized by a complex program created by skilled engineers. The voice is like from some aliens speech-synthesizers from outer space (as shown in science fiction). I like it very much. But the quality of translation itself is awesome - nothing so far can substitute the human interpreter. The dictionary, however is extremely good, from my point of view. I checked there all of unknown for me words from Arthur Hailey' "Airport" and almost, except for some old sleng of 60-th were translated perfectly. So this small box is in reality a very good dictionary after all. The design is of modern epoch - silver and black and it is heavy enough to be treated with some respect. Very light equipment I treat without dignity, they looks like cheap. A lot of games that should teach people how to comprehend English is out of my level of English learning - I prefer to read some classical books, but speach recognition system obviously does not work properly. Well, mp3 player works, if the MMS card is incerted into laptop and the necessary files are copied into it.

Alarm clock RCL RP 5420 C troubleshooting

The modern alarm clock is more and more complicated stuff compare to the old stile mechanical alarm clocks. The problem is that the functions of the buttons can not be understood easily and sometimes the combination of buttons should be pressed to make the right change. So on my alarm clock the alarm was activated and it worked but I can not switch it off. I can nap it but next day it will sound again and very loud at the end. The description does not help, looks like the function of switching off alarm does not work. The solution was to restart the alarm clock - I unpluged it and deleted the battery. Now, at the new set, the  alarm does not turned on and unless \I  erroneously turn it on, it will be silent.

Marry Christmas and Happy New Year! The snow is falling, indicating the possibility of snow to be present on Christmas, so the Christmas would be probably be in a traditional style. White roads, slightly cold temperature outside and warm environment in home. The cat started to be seated near the hot radiator yesterday, reflecting the cold weather. Time to buy some gifts for the expected and unexpected parties, while the Marry Christmas letters are already sent.
